Thats where the 50 cal used to rest. Dont know, but I will check back to see if anyone else knows. Interesting

FWIW, IV seen one pic of a Bronco in the UK that had the spare actually mounted on that part.

Iv got the same part on my 69.

The spare tire carrier latches to that bracket, you have to put the spare on the outside of the bracket for it to work. If you have flares and larger wheels, you won't be able to use it at all.
