I think the 302 complete is about 550 pounds. and the C6 I read somewhere was about 200 pounds. So your looking at about 750. Do you have the option of using a small utility trailer or something? I don't think the VW van would have a suspension much different than a car. Thats kinda pushing it I would say. If you have to I would remove the passenger seat before you go and put the tranny up front, as well as any of the engine components you can remove.

Hmm...thats about 340 kilos in total..

I have a small trailer, but i rather dont use it in this case.

the engine and the gearbox is about 200 miles away from me,and the swedish speed limit for a trailer is only about 45 mph.

So it will take me smewhere around 9 hours there and back to get it....not all that funny.

If i can take it on the pickup it will spare me atleast 3 hours.

It's a pure **** to own an american car and live i sweden...used parts r hard to come by.

And this engine has only 30.000 kilometers on it(18650 miles) and a nice price...for being here in sweden aswell i'll pay around 1150 us $ for it.

Have to check the loading capasity on the small vw pickup.

Thanks for the answer Yardape.

Helps a lot.

I missed the part where you said it was a pickup, might have heavier springs in it. Give it a try, just drive slow and careful.

If that is anything like the '80s VW pickup my dad had it can do it just fine. When I was helping a buddy rebuild his '69 Bronco we hauled the engine and both axles in it fine.

And i checked the loading cap. on it..it's legal up to 480 kg...thats about 1066 pounds, and i weigh in at 185,so i can even drive whith a full tank and still manage to take whith me a burger or 2

That is a unique truck around here. I have only seen a couple of them. I use to have a VW bus and the more load you put in it the better it handled. Are you able to get smaller parts for your Bronco from internet sources in the US like LMC Truck, or Bronco Graveyard?

Good luck,

:)>-

Smaller.new part r not a problem to get a hold on.

I coud even get a new engine o gearbox if i want to...or rather if i can afford it.

I belive a "bare" 302 goes for something like 25.000 swedish kroner...about 3500 $

But that's way to much money for me to put in a 1989 Bronco, whitch i only use for hunting and other outback stuff.

It looks like crap, but i cant help it...i love it.

Compare a Bronco whith for exampel a king cab or a land rover or whatever, then the bronc is a monster, and clear way more difficulties in the terrain than most other so called off-road cars

Only thing that i want i a full diff rear axel.

And considorring the gas price here in sweden,i'm quite alone to have one of these machines.

We pay 12 swk. per liter...thats about 6,50 $ per gallon....AND U GUYS COMPLAIN OVER YOUR GAS PRICE!!!
