I was swapping the waterpump on my 91 w/351w. The bolt that is directly under the thermostat housing seems to be crossthreaded. Does that bolt go into the block? It looks like there is a bracket holding the pump to the engine. Need help quick.

When I needed a new bolt or two..it was a trip to the hardware store for me..sometimes the autoparts store would have what I was looking for but 95% of the time the hardware store came through.

Before you reinstall your new bolts, retap the hole and clean it out real good to remove any crud or chips. I put a little RTV on the threads of my thermostat housing bolts to help prevent stuck bolts and I have replaced them with stainless steel bolts as well.
