i have 96 bronco 5.8L 351 windsor.. i am redoing my vacuum lines w/ 4mm plastic lines. I noticed there is a opening in the plenum that would allow me to run my vacuum lines from the erg valve and smog container (i think that is what it is) directly to the black mechanism near the coil.. I would not have to go around the back of the plenum.
would anyone know if i run these vacuum lines (inside a split loom) thru the opening in the plenum, would they risk melting or catching fire or any other issues..
thank you ray

Would need pictures to be sure, some ports are full vacuum and some are switched or ported. But for the most part vacuum is vacuum. So it should be okay.

Here are some pics, the first one is where the egr valve should be and the canister to the left. the second is where i can run the vacuum line thru and the last pic, show the black item that would take the tubes from the egr/black box.
my concern is if i run the plastic tubes thru the plenum would they melt from the heat off the engine.. it would make running the lines easier ...

Maybe run them through rubber hose at that point where it is close to manifold? Otherwise it should not be a problem.

You can always change it later is need be. Should not be any fire risk there.
