on my 66 bronco i was replacing the old shocks in the back with some new air ones. then the blot broke off. its the bolt on the top off the shock holding it on. the bolt isnt suppose to come out, i dont think, i think that the nut was just suppose to come off and then i would've slide it off. i dont no if any one else has the same confiquration. if you have any thoughts of what i could do it would be helpfull. im stuck... thanks

ps. to tother things the gas gauge on my bronco doesnt work at all. and. does any one no how to find HP with out a dyno. i have a 302, 3 speed in my 66. thanks

You can have that stud welded back on (a new one)...it's needed to hold the shock eye in place (with the washer & nut)

Use a volt-meter on the fuel tank "sender" wires to see if there's any current.

Could be a bad sender, bad wire(s), bad gage in dash-pod, or, if there's a tank switch (used with two tanks) it could be disconnected or bad.

I believe the '66 had a 289 V/8. The "published" H/P actually went down when they went to the 302. Guessing, the 289 was 200 h/p at 4400 rpm.

If you want ,you can grind and cut the old one off,and get a completely new mount,to weld on.Another option would be those new Cage rear mounts, that put duals in the same forward position.
