I have my housing pulled out for straightening at currie and my U bolts measure for a 1975 9 inch right below the bolt plate 3 and 3/8s on the inside, and I have reused the u bolts many times, sometimes I have too pinch the tops too get them in the top plate, its a pain, I use a wood slip vice too clamp them in soo I can bolt them in, I am not a daily driver so new is good for that and make sure too tourqe per factory specs, for me its , my husky air driver with psi set too 85psi, but dont listen too me I do stuff wrong all the time...but it has been along time since I broke anything, Light foot my buddies call me .....On the 66 Bronco rear axle(9")are the u-bolts 3.25 or are they smaller? It seams that 3.125 would be perfect, but there are not many u-bolts in this size.
