Depends on what you want.....do you want to shift the front axle seperate from the rear then you need to remove all of the the shift and the detents....if you just want to get 2 low then follow what is below.

best advice is to buy the kit......but if you want to fab it, rip off all the J shift stuff you do need anything but the detent rods. Fab up 2 handles and some connections to the rods. Takes alittle while to fab out the throws but its cheaper then the kit.

all and all though you need to remove the whole j shift and fab the rest, it was never a good shifter anyway.
