I saw a video on youtube about how to adjust the TV cable on my Bronco. It looked easy as all heck..

There is a clip that locks the cable in place. I pull that clip up, and release the slack? Or the end of the cable point (looks like a lil ball on the end of the cable?) needs to rest just barley before touching the yellow peice that connects into the throttle body?

Adam, watch ALL of the vids, and then buy a Haynes manual. It really is a piece of cake once you understand the procedure......

I got a haynes manual..though I should probably buy a new one. I've worked a lot on my bronco..not fixing issues, but general maint. and upgrading with newer/better parts..needless to say mine has chunks missing, fluid stains, and drunken moments lol

I'm watching a lot. Learning a lot. I like forums because of real people feedback vs just one guy explaing a fix based on THEIR situation that may be slightly different than mine.

You shoud have it done by a pro or diy ... best way to set the TV pressure is with a pressure gauge tapped into the side port of the transmission. There is a tool you put on the end of the TV cable to set some preload and then you adjust the TV cable .....(in neutral, with the motor warm

Many owners have adj it manually; Throttle Valve (TV) Cable Adjustment; Using a 100 psi pressure gauge to the TV port on transmission; "...If you don't have a gauge, or you are looking for a roughly correct place to start, you can remove the cable from the throttle body lever, and adjust it so that the cable is neither slack, nor under tension when the cable is reinstalled on the throttle body lever. This will get you fairly close. We do not reccomend this for a final setting. You should always use a gauge to verify your TV setting..." by Mike B at Baumann Engineering.. but since you have had a few problems with the tranny incl ID'ing it correctly, I rec. that you have a local shop do it w/the gauge and the next thing;

also the Throttle Valve (TV) Brass Bushing "...are known to have problems with TV cable adjustment, and it's often due to the original rubber bushing cracking & falling out while driving, which normally destroys the transmission in a couple of miles. But it's so common that Ford makes this upgraded brass bushing (see pic for Ford part number), which is cheap (~$10) & easy to install..." by Steve83
