OK i have a 89 bronco with 302 automatic. We went mudding and got it stuck in a huge puddle. after 15 minutes i managed to drive it out but then it started trying to stall on the trail. I get to the path and when i tapped the gas it died. starts right back up and idles fine runs ok even when shifted to park or reverse but if i tapped the gas it would stall. i let it sit for about 10 minutes and fired right up ran good for about 30 seconds then tried stalling again. so after much trying we push it home with my brother in laws chevy.(very sad sight) i let it sit for about an hour and she ran good for around 4 minutes then started stalling again. Any ideas? The only thing i could think of is something got wet or severe vacuum leak maybe. and it really sucks because its out at my brother in laws now so i cant even try to fix it tonight and when i do i wont have my heated garage or a garage at all to do it in lol...

look at all your vacuum hoses, your vacuum canister( soup can), pvc valve and line that goes to the intake from the valve cover on the passenger side. thats all I can think of it that when the throttle body opens the vacuum drops to 0 and the truck dies, maybe try to test that with a vacuum gauge to be sure.

when my vacuum canister fell off during my resto of my 89 f 150, I took gasket sealer, and two screws and plugged the lines going to and from the cannister.
