DSCN0146.JPGMy truck's paint is not terrible but it is wearing off in many places its not very notacable but i would like to take as good of care and prevent the surface rust from turning into somthing worse. Here are some pics of my bronco that are up to date, I painted the camper, bumper, parts of the police light and the mirrors myselp plus I added the stripes at the bottom to give it a nice 2 tone look. I was thinking maybe a 2 tone look with a darker green and black similar to how it is now tell me what ideas yall have.

Thanks.

First off here are some of the spots i am tlkn about I would look for a touch up but i need some dents out anyway

I'm a fan of two tone. I love my black/silver and I'll be getting it re-done in metalic black and sliver on it's next trip in, in a few years.

Reason I like two tone..you don't see it every day. There are nice colors out there, esp on new vehicles, but rare to see two tones anymore unless a dealership gets it custom done on a high end model..

My four personal favorites for a Bronco(in order) would be;

1). A deep Ruby red metallic.

2). A Silvery blue metallic.

3). A deep, dark Emerald green metallic.

4). A Hot Pink metallic. No really, I mean it. Have fun.........

BGB, you might try re-sizing those pics to a smaaler size similar to the last one. It also looks to me like there is a blue tint to all of the pics but that last one? I think the original color is unique, but it may be faded out. Take a look inside the door jambs, under the hood or behind the tailgate inside the bed area. I was surprised on my 84 Bronco by how dull and faded the original two-tone blue colors were on the exterior, and just as floored by how good the original colors looked in those areas. My painter was able to find a good urethane metallic paint that came really close to the factory color codes. JSM84

If you want to do the original colors, the paint code is on the Safety Compliance sticker located on the driver side "B" post.

Good luck,

:)>-

Thanx everyone for the suggestions,

The pics have a blueish tint because of how broght it was and my camera self adjusts Today i sanded and repainted the axel covers and axle hardware so i will post some more pics,

As ive mentioned before the truck was a wildlife officers if you look close it still has the letters WILDLIFE OFFICER on the Side, At first in my small town i was the only one with that color bronco now about 3 more have surfaced lol, they were all wildlife officer trucks like mine except with stock tires nd suspension. Anyways my camper paint was faded and the bumper was chiping so i gave it a black, green, chrome nd gold look(the rims are gold)

I wonder if that's the same paint color that the US Forest Service has on their vehicles? IF so, do you want to re-paint to the original color or pick something custom, liek a metal flake? My other question is do you plan to piant the Bronco yourself in the garage or have a pro do it in a paint booth? Good-quality custom paint is more expensive but will look much better than the cheap stuff if properly applied. If your truck is just a trail rig or weekend camping vehicle, a custom paint job may not be the best choice. My paint job lasted about 4-5 years, and is starting to fade quite a bit on the top. it's been outside all the time, too, exposed to the weather. JSM84

I do not know if its the same color. I use my bronco almost everyday i take it out into feilds nd through mud sometimes i just like the look of the big tires also. I would like a profesionall paint job soon this summer but for now do some custom things to make it look better. I do not plan to keep it the original color i was thinking about another shade of green though. I dont know yet if i want it one color or two as i have it know i will for sure have the bumper black.

There is a Ford green color, maybe Misek5 has the code in his bronco links. the only two-tone broncos with that color that I've seen was with white in the middle and green above & below, or the Eddie Bauer version with green and a tan color on the bottom. My 79 F-150 is a midnight emerald green. IT looks black in the pics. JSM84

The green my Bronco is, Pacific green I think they called it, is 96 specific, and was never used on the Eddie Bauer edition either. Mine is a tad faded, but still looks really good in certain light. Also, it changes it hue depending if its in the sun, shade, dusk, dark. Kinda cool actually.

If you go to a local paint/ body shop, they will have some color charts from various brands to choose from. You can also view some color charts online. Companies like PPG and DuPont are the two biggest, and have the best quality paint IMO. the color and shade of green you choose most likely will not be a factory Ford color, but then it doesn't have to be, right?

IF you look thru that AutoColor Library, some of the older cars in the 40's and 50's had a light green color similar to your Bronco. The sample I posted has a "Mint Green" that's failry close. My 1963 Chevy Impala also had a mint green shade, so there's several colors in that lighter shade of green. Some will be a glossy or satin finish, others more flat or 'non-glossy'. The big difference is that those original paints were laquers, and today's modern paints are enamels or urethane-based and much easier to apply yourself than a laquer.
