I just got my console in yesterday, and I've had the removable top trim in for about a week. I sprayed a couple of coats of Krylon Fusion gloss black, and here's how they turned out. I like the stuff so far. I'm gonna experiment with some interior dye next week, and see which one I like better.

Derrick36, that is a GREAT topic and awesome pics!!! :)>-

IF yo can re-size those to 640x480pxls, it would help us dial-uper's laod faster. While this topic belongs in the "Tech Articles/Reviews" forum, I would like to leave it here until other folks can view it and reply. So, I will wait awhile!

I've been considering trying the Fusion on the dash and interior trim, just afraid to try it without seeing any results. From your pics, it appears that the trim looks better than new! What prep work did you do, like cleaning with alcohol or just water, any sanding, etc. The Fusion directions say minimum prep is needed.

The center console also looks really sharp! Knowing that it is textured plastic, would sanding it smooth look better??? Just my opinion, but I prefer the textured look, if it's clean.

I have seen the results of the regular interior dye, and they look just as clean as the Fusion. I have only seen the Fusion colors in "trendy" colors, but the Gloss Black does look appropriate for the Bronco.

Thanks again for the pics!!!

Help me out, I'm kinda computer stupid. How do I re-size those?

As far a prep work, I washed everything in my bath tub with warm soapy water, then sprayed them with rubbing alcohol, and let them sit. Then I sprayed the first coat on, and it seems like pretty much all of the stuff had armor all, or some sort of cleaner on them, b/c in spots the paint wouldnt stick at all. So I waited the 24 hrs like the can says, and lightly sanded everything again(to give it something better to stick to, and that's it. Pretty simple.

I really like the way the console turned out. Actually the inside is smooth, and that's where I had the hardest time with the paint sticking. Then when I sanded it, the sand marks show up pretty good. The paint just stuck to the textured stuff a lot better.

Ya, I'm not very "trendy" so I'll just stay with the gloss black. I'm just going to compare it with the dye, b/c of how the Fusion worked on the smoother parts.

This dye from CD2 makes some pretty bold claims, so we'll see what happens. For $18.99 a can it better look outstanding!

That Fusion spray paint is great!! I did a front grille on my 02 Impala without any sanding. It held up very well.

Planning on using it to paint the moldings on the Bronco after it comes back from the paint shop!

Ya, all my trim is coming out soon. I'm re-doing the carpet and the seats, plus putting some sound deadening material in, but I'm gonna compare the Fusion to some interior dye first.

You should have the option in any photo editing software. If you don't see "resize" look for "resample" I usually try to keep pics no wider than 500 pxls

No, that's just plain old gloss black. I could only find the stuff at Checker(schucks, kragen, depending on where you live). Autozone had it, but they didn't have black for some reason? I am real impressed with the stuff, not much prep other than general cleaning.

I painted all of my stuff, with SEM's dye. I hate it. I preped it correctly twice, and if you have sprayed all of your plastic at one time, you know its a pain n the butt to have to re-do-it. I just started it ith the Krylon Fusion. I am using flat blak though. I seem to like it. I wonder how good it holds up?? I am doing this one slow, just b/c I dont wanna have to re do it again next week. Let me know how you think it holds up! I have run over it woth a knife and it seems fine.

Cindy-

These pictures are with the SEM's, I like the finish, its not too much. I really like the looks of the interior pannels with the srpry bedliner, heres one with the door n bedliner, the look great(but scratch, I am re-doing them in Krylon) I also am gonna go ahead and re-do the cloth to match the seats in grey.

Ya, I just did some pieces with with G2's interior dye. The stuff was a little spendy, but the parts I did turned out great. I even tried to scratch the stuff, and it wont come off. I'll post pics later.

Did you dye the little pieces of fabric on your door panels? If so, what did you use?

I used SEM's dye for the plactis and frabric. Its "suppose" to be used on both. I was unhappy with the look and feel. It really stiff/hard/thick. I am gonna re cover it later to match my seats.

From what ive read and studied up on, I HAVE NOT EXPERIMENTED YET, but I hear that duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint is the way to go. Comes in many different colors
