I have a 96 bronco with a 5.0 and a E4OD Transmission. A couple of days ago, I noticed that when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd, it has a brief moment of hesitation before it will shift into 3rd. I haved check the fluid and it is fine and full. If someone could tell me what else to check before I take it somewhere to get the transmission rebuilt, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

yo!

I suggest having the Bronco checked for Diagnstic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for Free at a local parts shop;

Have all lights & Accessories Off.

Be sure that they do the KOEO = Key On Engine Off portion first;

then, engine @ Normal Operating Temperature before doing the KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) portion

Post any DTCs found here and then we'll see what other tests are involved

Is that shift to 3rd Hard or Soft?

Is the Transmission Control Indicator Lamp (TCIL - LED @ end of shofter stalk) Flashing?

Some poss."

When the valve would stick, it caused a late 1-2 upshift, you actually had to let up on the throttle for it to shift, then all of the other shifts were perfect. We spent hours checking the TPS Sensor, PCM..."

Sorry it has taken me awhile to reply. The transmission went out about 4 days ago and I have been trying to get things organized to where I can still get to work with my bronco being in the repair shop. Thanks to everyone who reply to my original post.
