Sounds like your tranny is about to go on you. Sorry to give the bad news. Check the vaccum lines to the tranny, make sure there's no leaks.

Check the link to "MIesk5's Homepage" in the Tech Articles forum. you may just get by with adjusting the T.V. cable, but odds are the AOD is going South. AVG price for an overhaul is about $600-$700, JSM84

the day that i got my bronco (which is almost three years ago now) it shifted hard from first to second. once i went to the 37" tires i knew that i was putting more strain on the tranny. she lasted for over 2 years with the hard shift. you may luck out and get some time out of the tranny still, but put pennies away for a swap

I would advise you what I tell other folks: Take the Bronco to three different trans shops and have them look at it. Two of the shops will prolly tell you it needs to be overhauled, but the right one will be honest and tell you what is actually wrong. If you do your own repairs and are capable of swapping the tranny, then the swap to a C-6 may be worthwhile. The B-W 13-56 t-case will bolt up the 4WD c-6, but you'll need to change the linkage if it's a manual-shift t-case. If you have a shop work on the AOD, just have them work on it and give you a good warranty. If you're still unsure about the price quotes or disgnosis you get from a shop, post up and get some opinions from the forum, JSM84
