Transmission squeel

all right so I have a 84 bronco with a C-6 and right before it shift from first to second I get a squeel. Once it shifts it stops. I also get it from 2nd to 3rd but not as loud. any ideas?

do you get the squeel in neutral when reved at the same RPM? Sounds more like a belt than a tranny to me I have had one crap out on me but never had a little piggy in it.

No its not a belt, once rpm drop from it shifting the squeel goes away. I have not tried it in neutral I will try that tonight.

could be a slipping band in the tranny, but more likeley the serpentine belt, mine squeeled and was gooey as all **** because the previous owner was an idiot, he used wd40 to stop the belt from squeeling

Well last night after the kids soccer practice I go tmy wife out there and started up the old bronco I had her rev up the engine and the squeel was coming from the engine I really thought it was from the tranny anyway its only at high rpms so I think its a bearing going out just not sure if its the water pump or the power steering pump yet. thanks for all your help.
