Ok so you guys think it may be a bad motor of some such. That has prevented it from returning to any gear and is sitting in a sort of a neutral. Should i look into replacing the motor or what.
Right now i am gonna go change the transfer case oil. Any one have any idea how many quarts it takes to fill it all the way up.
yo!
I dunno about the Xfer case chain for sure Sparky. As routine prevent. maint, it is prob time for you to change the fluid - 2 Quarts in my 96's BW 1356, should be = same as your year (92?) It uses Mercon Auto Tranny Fluid.
btw; here is some info from my 96's Owners guide;
"...When the transfer case is in the N (Neutral) position, the engine and transmission are disconnected from the rest of the driveline.
Therefore, the vehicle is free to roll even if the automatic transmission is in P (Park) or the manual transmission is in gear..."
So, get some pals and see if the Xfer case is Stuck in Neutral by pushing or pulling da bronco a yards....be careful of tail lights/headlight areas w/hands
and some info by Ryan M:
"...The Electronic Shift Control Module is powered at all times through Circuit Breaker 12 of the Fuse Panel to retain its memory capability. Fuse 18 provides power for the switches and the Electric Shift Motor when the Ignition Switch is in RUN. Fuse 10 provides power for nighttime illumination of the Electronic Shift Control Switch.
When the Electronic Shift Control Switch is placed in the 4x4 or LO position, the Electronic Shift Control Module analyzes information from the Shift Position Sensors to determine their current positions. The Module also analyzes information inputs from the Transfer Case Speed Sensor and the MLP Sensor or Park/Neutral Position Switch. The Electronic Shift Control Module then activates the Transfer Case Motor to produce the desired shift, and the 4x4 Indicator lights up...":
ck your fuse for da heckuva it; maybe a diff # than 18
