Trans I.D.

I have an 82" 4sp man w/4th gear od. How do or where do I ID which tranny it is? Reason why im asking is that the guy that orgianlly had the truck, must've put auto trans fluid in it b/c im getting a leak and its red. So any helo on this would be great.

If the reverse is to the left and up and left again you have a SROD (RUG) also you can look on the passanger side of the transmission for the numbers or you could just look on the door frame but I don't know what the code is however someone here will. If you have a leak don't put synthetic oil in it the leak will get worse. In my SROD I use standard 90wt. Hope that helps.
