tranny questions

hi this is maverick from pa im a new guy here. love the site so far..... I have a 89 EB and i want to drop a 460 in it and i was wondering if the 460 will bolt to the tranny ? im sure the 89 had a 351 in it and i heard the 460 will bolt in it and i heard it wont i would like some feedback

maverick12, Seabronc is right. The 460 cid motor will not bolt up to your stock tranny if it was for a 351W/302 small block. IF you are set on swapping to the 460, look for a tranny that was made for it specifically. IF you are looking for an automatic, the C-6 is your best bet. Be sure the C-6 has the same bolt pattern for a big block motor like the 460. The C-6 was also offered for the smallblock motors. Look at the F-250 for a donor engine&tranny combo. Keep in mind that the 460 is quite a bit heavier than the 351W, and you will need to swap motor mounts. A good source of info is L&L Products here in Texas.
