A guy traveling through my town on the way to the beach ran a stop sign this past friday and I t-boned him. I was contacted by my insurance company today and was informed that my Bronco was totaled. I looked for months to find the perfect Bronco. I have had it for just 4 months :(( .

Anyway, they said that my truck was only worth $4300. My payoff is $5400 and I put $2000 down on the truck! My insurance lady said that if I can find local ads with the same year and model Bronco for sale with a higher price than $4300, they will match it. I am in the process of looking for the ads but I was just wondering if anyone can assist me in this.

I was told that my insurance company is paying for the truck and then will go after his insurance company for their money since he was at fault. I find that kinda strange.

My Bronco was a 1994 Eddie Bauer in almost perfect condition inside and out. It did have 167,000 miles but it ran great.

I was told today by my body shop that I may be able to get the insurance company to fix it but I don't really want a 'salvaged' Bronco. The frame is bent pretty badly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Steve

If he was at fault HIS insurance company should pay YOU not your insurance company, you should also get compensation for time and a rental car...mental anguish too? I seem to have a huge bullseye on the back of all my vehicles and have delt with more insurance adjusters then id like. (one tried to tell me it was going to be totalled and i told him to reappraise it or there would be a lawsuitf because i just put a new motor in a year ago and the new motor only had like 20k on it and the whole car 75k) so just dont let them ***** you over they are in the business to make money not hand it out.

Because you filed the claim with your company. It is called subrogation, and is pretty standard. That does **** about the diff between what you paid and what they will pay you. Not that I would recomend this, but why dont you, or a couple of your friends, pay the 30 bucks to place an ad (as requested by insurance) in Thrifty Nickel for a <very> similar Bronco, and if anyone calls, have them say they already sold it...

good luck

That is commonly known as insurance fraud and can get you jail time :-& .

They are unreasonably limiting you with the local add BS. Broncos in excellent condition easily go for that on ebay. I think you should demand they allow you to use it as a source since the market of Broncos is too limited for a local add. Maybe you should talk to a lawyer who deals in accidents.

Good luck,

:)>-

I did a search on autotrader.com and there's several 94 Bronco, even saw a Eddie Bauer - all of 'em were listed for more than 4300

Good luck

What kind of vehicle was the other guy driving? He had to be going pretty fast to total your Bronco. Anyway, It was his fault for running the stop sign so you shouldn't have to pay for his mistake. Who knows; you could've probably faked a broken arm and gotten $10,000 more out of him. :))

you can get WAY more than 4300 for a good quality bronco. ****, a good quality, stock, 92-96 should bring in around 5-6K, higher depending on mileage. twist some arms, snap some necks, and get what you deserve
