first of all hello everyone. i just traded a rust free 2wd explorer for a rusted out 88 bronco so i guess i'm dedicated here.

i've got some 33x12.5's i wanna throw on my truck. it's mainly gonna be street driven and taken up to silverlake sand dunes here in Michigan. i've got the tires for free but the bad thing is they are 16's so i'm gonna have to buy rims. what backspacing is going to be my best bet? summitracing has a good deal on soft 8's and i wanna order some. i'm going to be running a 2" ebay budget lift spacers up front and add a leaves in the rear. anyone run this setup? thoughts? should that work fine for me. and i work at a garage so the alignment won't be a problem.

Does your bronco have the twin traction beam setup or does it have a straight axle? If it has the TTB then alingment will be a much bigger problem than you are anticipating. Refer to the posts in the pinned section of this forum for a topic called "Lifting a TTB suspension." That should give you a clear picture of the alignment problems that will occur. Also I've raised my bronco 2.5" and I had to get all the brackets to make everything correct again. I also got my lift as a kit and it had everything I needed.

well it's ttb just like every other stock 88 bronco

this is from the pinned topic: If you are only lifting a small amount, (1 or 2 inches) you should be able to change bushings on the upper ball joints to bring things back into alignment

and i did say i work at a garage and should be able to get my alignment back in specs.

measure your tires. if they actually measure under 33 you can probalby run without a lift and be fine. especially for a mostly street driven truck.
