Tailgate Panel removal, XLT 88-91

Hey, How do I remove the tailgate panel, XLT, silver with the reflector that covers the outside of the tailgate on a 87-91 XLT. I think you all know what I mean.

anyone remove one before?

When you open the gate on the ends behind the lip you will see 2 3/8 finish acorn nuts take them off and I think there were six more inside the gate so you will have to remove the inner cover to get at them then the cover will pull off . /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks for the reply, I did see those, do I have to take the "guts" out to get to them, or just the inner cover?

You will have to raise the window enough to get at the ones that are inside the tail gate.

Some of the pins don't have nusts on them and can be pushed out.
