The previous owner never had a key for the door and tailgate locks and drilled out the tailgate key cylinder so he could use a screwdriver. To replace that cylinder, do I just need to put the clip that holds it in and rebuild the parts on the back of the lock that activates the window? Thanks in advance!

It is a key operated switch.  You may be able to find the parts at a local auto yard.  Any good locksmith can make you a key for the cylinder once you have one.   In fact, once you have a cylinder, a locksmith can change the pins to match your door key.

Good luck in your search

That looks like it, the switch hardware mounts on the back end of it so be careful and make sure the pieces go on the way you took them off.  Niether of the jobs is a real difficult task.  From what I recall, you will have to have the window full up or nearly so to get at the key hardware.  Use a saw horse or something to give the window some support so you don't break it.  You may have to cheat the limit switch in order to raise the window when the tail gate is down.  That is unless someone has already done that.

miesk5 may have a detailed set of instructions to add to this.

Good luck,
