So guys I need your help once again. I am rebuilding my BW 13-56 Electric shift T-Case.(I know I wish it were manual too and will be soon) My problem is while tearing it down I had a problem getting the ball bearing out for the speedo gear. I can see grind marks on the shaft from where the last whoever that was in there tore it apart. What I suspect happened is that on tear down they dropped the BB and thought they found it but in actuality it was the wrong one. Any way I had to grind it down to get it out which leads me to my question. Does anyone know the part number for that BB or maybe where I could get one? I would appreciate anu help on this as this seems like the craziest thing I've ever had keeping me from driving my truck.

yo,

A local tranny shop (mom & pop type) should be able to get one for you;

see the Motive Gear BW1356 diagram @ http://www.motivegear.com/pdf/LD_TRANSCAT_004_1.pdf

see parts;

125 1345130001 BALL BEARING - REAR MAIN SHAFT

116 1356053003 SPEEDO GEAR RETAINER

117/129 T18-169 SPEEDO GEAR (7T)

117/129 T18-169D SPEEDO GEAR (8T)

contact them @ http://www.motivegear.com/contact.htm

another source is;

Rockland Standard Gear http://www.rsgear.com/

or

Standard Transmission & Gear http://www.standardtransmission.com/transfercases.html

"Standard Transmission & Gears repair facility can rebuild your transfer case for you. We also have parts for the auto repair shops and DIY’s that would rather build it themselves.

Parts are available for immediate shipment. If we don't have it in stock, we'll find it for you if it's still available and have it drop shipped to your address..."

btw, back in da day.. I saw a Yenko Corvair having an $$$ upgraded tranny installed; a "mechanic" was about to install a bearing, dropped it on the filthy shop floor, picked it up, wiped some crap off it with his sleeve and installed it. The owner had it towed back a day later.

Miesk5,

You sir are my hero! I have been looking through schematics and breakdowns that show the ball with no part number for so long I was ready to throw my computer. LOL. I found it off the part number you posted and it is a whopping .10 cents. I can't believe I couldn't find one local. I even tried the mom and pop style tranny shops like you suggested. But anyway it is on order and I greatly appreciate your help.
