Hey fellow cool people, I was wondering if anyone has done a front end swap on your rigs. I have a 1990 XLT and I was interested in putting on a front end from either a '92 or a '78 and wasnt sure of the fit or placement problems anyone had. Any feedback would be appreciated in this matter.

the 92 will work probably require the radiator support and all basically the complete front clip...inner fenders, fenders, hood, radiator support all as a unit but it should work. As for the 78 the body lines are different I'm not sure it would even bolt on, if it does the lines on the body, like the lines on the fender to door and hood to lower windshield, will be off some. But with the right determination and skills you could make it work.

you can swap all 80 to 96 front ends, 80 to 86 , 87 to 91 and 92 to 96 body styles, I know a couple people on this forum have already done this swap, but what you need are- cowl, fenders, hood, grill ( and lights) and radiator support.

depending on the condition of the rad support you will be putting in you may want to buy a new one as well as new mounting hardware from broncograveyard.com

good luck
