Trying to accomplish two things here:

1: a "stock" look.. me and theft don't get along..so I try to avoid it as much as possible. I just recently upgraded to an indash aftermarket CD player from my trusty 20yr old factory tape deck!

2: need as much physical room as possible, so space is limited for the "built-in" toys..

My girly and I take the Bronco camping with us. We put all our gear in the back, then set up camp, and sleep in the cargo area. Works well.. the back seat is removed as I'm 6'4 and need the leg room to sleep..

So anyone install a subwoofer like how the ones in the exploders are installed? I want to do something simular..looked for photos but havn't seen one done up. If anyone has photos, or has done it..be nice to hear from ya! I'd love to have a nice 10" sub in the back to add a little bass, while giving me the room needed, and the factory look I'm going for..

pretty much the tricky part is finding a place for the amp where its not going to be in the way, or where its gonna get hot and burn your bronco down. if you keep an eye on the heat you can try mounting it in the center console, but cooling would be and issue unless you cut small vents in the bottom of the console and have something above it so people or kids don't burn their fingers.

as far as the subs are you going to use the locations where the rears are or are you going to mount them further back behind the wheel well?

if you were going to do that then just remove your side panels, find a suitable location to mount, if you have to getting slotted bars that you can bolt or weld anywhere would give you something to ***** the subs to, cut the appropriate holes in the side panels, and try to find a speaker or sub cover to clean up the edges.

then run your wires and you are set.

Some of 6's comments; "...The whole point of the exercise, over and above getting more sound, was to flush mount these speakers (and the sub) so;

a.) they don't eat into the cargo room or impede regular day to day use of the Bronco.

b.) To make an effort to conceal them so they look less attractive to punks and actually remain in my possession.

The best speakers in the world do you no good if they're constantly stolen and not in your truck to enjoy.

I seriously doubt these installer grade speakers interest punks but the more you can conceal them, and make them look stock(with covers), the less likely they are to make off with them.

To do this I thought I was compromising on sound, but happily that just ain't the case !
