i took the ol bronco out muddin today. i got hung up in a nasty hole. i burried it untill you couldnt see the axels. the worst part about it was i had to call a stupid dodge deisel to come pull me out. it was some nasty gumbo but i think that my main problem lies with the fact that i couldn't turn the bfg mud terrains fast enough to clean out the treads. I got a 351w wich i thought would be good enough to do the job. is there any upgrades that i can do to fix this problem? any advice would be helpfull. thanks

I agree, the proper gear ratio fot the size tires you're running may help, as would a limited slip or locker in one or both axles. I look at it this way: YOu have to get stuck now and then to find your limits of how far you can go, how deep of a mudhole you can run, etc. But if you get high-centered or hung-up on the frame, no amount of HP or accessories will help, and you will need a winch or tow from a friend. You'll prolly pull out more Dodge diesel's than they will you, since those motors are 2-3 times as heavy and often bury the front nose.

your factory gearing is probably 3.50s or 3.55s with p235x75x15s on 15x7.5" wheels. goin to a tire that much taller youll need 4.56s to get back to factory and help with the added wind drag from bein taller and more rolling resistance.

if you change the gears and still want more power change your spark plugs, wires, put in a chip, intake, or take it up a step and put heads on it. that should put enough easy bolt on horsepower to make anyone happy :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

If you dont do much interstate driving i would recomend 4.88 gears with your 35's i run 37's and 4.88 and on the interstate i would probably go to 5.13's
