The bronco is a stock 69.

I have quite a bit of play within the Bell Coupler. I can move it from side to side.

It makes my wheel vibrate back and forth at slow speeds.

I do not know what the shaft spline count is or dia.. It is a daily driver and Pwr Steering is a future upgrade.

.

What steering u-joint model from either BC Bronco/Graveyard variety would work without having to take anything apart?

Can I still drive the truck until I get one or is it unsafe with that amount of play?

All front-end steering components are new except for the box.

Thanks for the support.

Yah,

It could lead to a serious situation. TomsBroncoParts.com has those bell joints. (used) (I believe)

They're pretty simple....two metal blocks that sit on pins, a clip to hold them in, a washer/rubber seal, & some grease.

Drive like a "lil' ole lady" 'til you get it fixed.

The "bell" is designed to allow for frame flex.....a hard U-joint may cause binding out in the rough...especially climbing...I know this 1st. hand.

I replaced the whole thing with a complete heavy duty Flaming River telescoping shaft, got rid of the rag shaft completely. It really firms up the road feel.
