The styock 83 351W probably had a 2bbl 2150A-2V carb, though it could have had a 7200-VV.

Good luck,

I believe those 2bbl's are about 500cfm, and the 4bbl Holley 4180 is a 600cfm.

Right, but they didn't offer the 4180 4bbl in 83.

So say i wanted to replace the carb with another 2 barrel what would be the best carb to go with a larger cfm? Would that increase power? And with a larger carb am i gonna get less gas mileage?

I don't think there is too much available in a 2bbl except the original carb type. If you can keep your foot out of it, a 4bbl can actually give you better milage. Especially any with small primaries and large secondaries. That is because in normal street operation you are not using the secondaries. Stay away from a Holley if you are looking for the best economy. They are great when stomping on it but not so great on economy. Edlebrock or Carter are probably a better bet.

Good luck,

:)>-
