so I swapped out the front and rear speakers- and checked the sound- still works, and better.

Next was to pull out the Head Unit (receiver) and replace with a kenwood one that has an ipod input. I pulled the old one out- and had the wires hanging out, and plugged in the wiring harness. I then plugged in the new head unit- sitting in front of the spot to mount it. It worked great. I then slid it back, into place, and before screwing the mounting bracket in- turned the radio back on- and nothing.

AAhh!

pulled it out, checked my wires- and all my soldering was still in place. Re-plugged the stuff in and it still won't work.

I checked the fuse under the steering wheel, and it's fine.

Is there some other fuse I may have blown somehow, or a wire that could pull that I can't seem to find?

any ideas?

I bought it through crutchfield, so when I get to work on it again on saturday- I can call them, as they have good free tech support, but hoped someone here can help.

I'm hoping it's something stupid like a wire I didn't see...

Wire Color Code Abbreviation Chart;

BK Black,

BL Blue,

BR Brown,

DB Dark Blue,

DG Dark Green,

GN Green,

GY Grey,

LB Light Blue,

LG Light Green,

My Sony unit often shuts down a speaker or two depending on how lousy a patch job an adjoining town does on it's lousy roads. All that extra wiring back there often gets jammed and pulls a wire out of a connector.

GL!

awesome.

Yes- I probably wouldn't be posting in Bronco Forums about my motorcycle =)

I have the Tape Deck stereo as the standard one in my 91 Eddie bauer Bronco.

yo CJ,

gl! and yw!

btw, I don;t have the wriing diagram for it's power side, but figure on the single fuse.

re; "Yes- I probably wouldn't be posting in Bronco Forums about my motorcycle =) "

You would be surprised about how many folks have asked a Q, say, about an ign sys wiring diagram and after maybe 2 hours of research and posting a reply we see .. "Well thnx but this is for my wife's Maxima"

lol

be well!

I hate electrical problems.

I'm going to try and install a touchscreen head unit in mine once we move to Texas.

Finished this up this weekend. I pulled it out, checked all my soldering, and then plugged it all back in, and started testing a few extra wires that it said didn't need to be hooked up, and should be taped off. Ends up that one of the orange ones had to be soldered into the yellow turn on wire. Done, and done. Works great- Now just to figure out all these damn controls on the head unit!!!

Great sound though for a total of like $220 for a receiver and 4 speakers.
