Well my tie rods are completely shot. When I make a full 90deg turn left or right, and then straighten out the truck will pull hard to the direction I had just turned. I'm thinking I need new tie rods. So please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was looking at the steering kits on JBG and they have an OEM kit for $150 or a Superlift kit for $500. The Superlift kit looks great, and I have a 6" lift, but $500 is a lot of money. I suppose you get what you pay for, but I wanted to find out if anyone had seen anything better, or if I should just install a new stock setup. Has anyone found the Superlift steering kit somewhere cheaper?

I like the superunner steering kit because it minimizes the tie rod angles. I wish they offered one for solid axle broncos, especially for 76-77's because it would eliminate the inverted y set-up. But like you said, you get what you pay for.

Yeah the overall setup of the superunner kit makes more sense than the stock one anyway. By mounting the swivel bracket off the passenger side axle mount, and then connecting both wheel's rods in the middle, it looks a lot more sturdy. Even though it would still work essentially like the stock one, because all inputs come from the pitman arm, having shorter links with a main center piece looks very strong. I just want to make sure it's worth the extra money over rebuilding the stock setup. The price difference is huge and I have no idea how much better the Superrunner setup would be performance wise. It does look muck stronger though.

Since you aLready have the Superlift suspension lift kit, I would opt for the SuperRunner system. You can flip the tie rod ends where they mount at the knuckles, moving them to the top instead of underneath. That will reduce the sharp angle on the steering linkage, and not cost near as much. But in my view the Superlift steering system is worth it for the TTB front. JSM84

I agree with Steve83. Doing it your self is OK, but I don't think the front end is a place to start your learning curve. However, that being said, it's your truck your life.

Good luck,

:)>-
