Steering Help

I just put a body lift on and it required that i put a u joint on the steering column has anyone done this... could you tell me how you did it?

I have never done it but you can buy the stearing shaft with the u-joint already on it for a hundred or so, from jegs,summit,bronco graveyard, or lmc.
