i have had a tough time with my throttle response, and very stiff pedal. so i went through pages of threads here on the subject and got a lot of the same trails of answers. with none of them being the problem i went out this morning and got to poking around and I've had these two springs attached to the throttle lever from the throttle body, one is about one inch long and about the size of a nickle in diameter. the other is about two and a halt inches long and about the size of a fat pencil (length of both unhooked ) they were both stretched pretty tight. so...what the he77 i unhooked one ( still worked ) so i unhooked the other and still worked. TEST DRIVE!! OMG that thing took off like a bullet! granted idle is low so i am going to get a different spring for the cure. i need the good, the bad, and the ugly of this monster i woke this morning. so please any info would be great.

thanks muddpuppy

I have had a spring break one time, it reved wide open and I shut off the key....no biggie.

My wife just bought a 1979 Camaro that had 2 springs on it, and it was like stepping on a brick, so we unhooked one...worked like a charm.

Just make sure every so often you check the spring, but in all seriousness many last the life of the vehicle.

That is my 2.5 cents.

Just remember that when you turn the key off the power-steering goes away & for God's sake DON'T take the key all the way out & lock the steering column (I actually know someone who did that, it's *not* something you want to do)
