Got a 77 Ranger with a 302. I want to replace the plugs and wondering if I should use the Motorcraft or Autolite. Is there any difference or is one a little better than the other? Also how about the platinum ones?

Thanks,

It's funny, because I have used all kinds of plugs in my Bronco, from Split Fire to the 4 pronged ones (I have a friend who owns a parts store) and the absolute best ones that my Bronco runs on are the $0.99 Autolites. No platinum, no gold, just plane jane plugs. I get better mileage, it runs smoother and doesn't run as hot with the cheapos. It ran the absolute worst with the Bosch Platinum & the Champion Gold Truck plugs.

If you're bronco is running good on the old plugs, I'd replace them with the same brand and be sure to gap'em right! Stick with what work$.

motorcraft and autolite plugs are the same plugs the motorcraft plug just has to meet tighter specs.
