I want to freshen the spare tire carrier and I'd like to replace the mounting bolts with something less rust prone. Does anyone know the size/thread count on the mounting bolts and could SS replacements be used or is that not going to work?

Yo SoFloBronco,
Call local Ford Dealer Parts Department to confirm what a former member wrote "Those bolts have 10mm head, a relatively small captive washer, & 8mmx1.25mm threads about 30mm long with an angled slot in the tip for self-tapping. Common hardware bolts won't fit because the heads are too large. Hex cap screws probably will fit, but they won't look right."
