If anyone is using this top from Soft Top

Canvas, Black Complete, 80-91 Clear Windows

Item # 35606 - new! from JBG?

Can you still use your stock fiberglass top in the winter with out removing the hard ware for the soft top or will the hard ware need to be removed for this to happen?

Thanks all..

My friend's dad has a soft top on his 95 Bronco. He stores it in the winter but I'll ask him tomorrow about your question.

I believe you need to remove the softtop hardware to install the factory hardtop in order to access the mounting holes in the body.

This is more or less what I have been thinking. It would be nice if one did not have to remove the hardware to put the hard top back on. As I am posting back to this I am not thinking that if the hardware was to stay on it might pose as a problem for the seal and water might leak in ?

Well when I get my soft top one day, I will see how it all works..

thanks all..

If you try a search, you should still be able to view the install instructions for that JBG softtop. THe original mfg site was Kayline. I also have one of those tops as a spare, if you have any other questions.

Ya, I know about the Kayline buy out...

I also have the instructions for the soft top but I don't recall reading anything about removing hardware for putting the original top back on. I'll look it over again.. All the same it would make sense to remove the hardware or drill holes in the needed spots for the original top to fit back on. Maybe even get some thinker wether striping to put on to compensate for the soft top hardware...

I have a Kayline top on mine for 5-6 years now. There is no way to leave the hardware on. I thought it was specialty top company that bought Kayline but could be wrong. Either way, from what I understand they have redesigned the mounting system to a fasttrac system like a Jeep instead of snaps like mine and the new style hardware uses the existing bolt holes. So again, It wouldn't be possible to leave the hardware on.

I can tell you one thing with utmost certainty. My soft top is by far the best money I ever spent on my Bronco. Cruisin' around ******* in the summer just can't be beat.
