small problems

hey guys,

need alittle help. i have a 92 eddie bauer bronco with 5.8l 351w. my first problem is when i am in drive or just ideling the engine wants to rev up and then die down. it does it constantly. my second problem is that i have push button 4x4 and it wont engage. i know its not the switch because i took one out of anouther 92 that the 4x4 worked and swaped them and still nothing.

any sugestions will be appreciated

Could be a relay or the actual motor on the 4x4, my motor decided to sieze while IN 4 wheel drive, that was a fun experience.

The surgeing you have explained can be caused by a couple things . Most likely the IAC ( idle air control ) Is sticking it is located on the throttle body . Take it off and clean it . Another option is that the TPS ( throttle position sensor is going bad if the truck has alot of miles ID change it out too . check your ac compressor and wiring to it. thats makes mine surge at an idle and die sometimes. try disconnecting the harness plugged into the top of the ac compressor, see if the engine smooths out.
