I have a slow transmission leak it looked like it was from the bellhouseing but got under and it seems to be more to the right by the passengers side when i looked up their is a small hose and it seems to be coming from the top fitting of that hose any one know what that is ? the hose seems fine and in good shape should i just take a screwdriver and tighten the fitting ?

Thanks guys

yo C,

the fittings the lines are screwed into are just screwed into the case using ¼" Pipe fitting. tighten it a bit; if it feels tight, you may need to take it out and apply some teflon tape to da fitting and ***** it back in the case, since its da top hose, there isn't any pressure when engine is off since t it goes to the cooler.

I relcall that for Mustangs, a Ford pal said there is a kit availbale to replace the fitting/hose clamps with a "newer" style. If the dealer parts folks can't help, check at local tranny shop. esp one where the Police/Fired dept and truckers take their vehices for service.

yo,

Good job!

I forgot to mention the bellhousing leak; since it's tranny fluid consider fromt pump.

And see if the Torque converter has a drain plug, which can be a cause if loose or a prev owner/"mechanic" X threaded it

Next up in da batting order is the dipstick O ring...look around there too; heat + age = a bad-bad o ring!

Other suff is possible incl. vent leak but only if tranny fluid is way overfilled & I doubt that is the prob since it's apparent you know da stuff.

GL!
