I found a 1993 f-150 with a 5.8L with 200,000 miles on it for $2,000, the body looks nice and the truck has already been inspected for the year, the interior is also in good condition. dont worry i would not trade my bronco in on it but i would like to have somthing with a bed! i would just like to know what you think about me purchasing it or if you think i should save my $$. Thanks in advanced to all that reply.

Take into consideration about the price, hard to work on ,the gas mileage-------you can buy a older vehicle for the same price ,easier to work on and better gas mileage ,reliability, cost to repair. The older one beat out any late or new model.-Just look what a set of tires would cost for a 93 with 16 or 17 inch tires --then compare tires for a older truck in 14 of 15 inch.---------just look at any old vehicle,s tires and the price of a set of tires on a new vehicle--who needsd 16,17 or bigger tires on a mustang---when the 14 and 15 done the same thing.

the wheel and tire size is the same as my bronco, and most parts would be compatible being its practicly the same motor and suspension.and i have had fairly good luck with my bronco but i dont no what exact condition the motor and trans are in the f-150 so i can see why you would bring up the concern about the motor and trans.

The motor & tranny are going to be some of the most expensive things to fix if they need to be overhauled. 200K miles is alot for the original equipment, and it can run about $2800 to replace the E40D auto in the 93. Still, $2000 seems reasonable if the truck is in good running condition and has no major problems. JSM84

yea im sure it is the orig trans for being that price, but i am going to go back to the dealer to check it out again this week and find out some more about it. i am hoping i would be able get a good bit more miles out of it before haveing to replace somthing major if i buy it. it also has manual locking hubs do you no if that was stock on a 93 cause my 94 bronco has auto locking hubs, i no the manuals are a little more reliable, prolly should put some on my bronco. thanks for your help.

If the truck has a manual-shift t-case instead of the electric, it's possible to have original manual-locking hubs. A quick look to see if the center dial is a faded red plastic will confirm that they are factory hubs at least.
