Well we are getting hammerd with snow here.. I don't want to be locked into 4x4 constantly and having to get in an out every single time I want to go into 4x4 and lock the hubs.

So is it safe, to lock the hubs, drive around and kick the truck into 4x4 when needed? I will be on main streets avoiding highways.

Thanks!

I never made a habit of it, but I've driven around with hubs locked and t-case in 2H for several days, especially before or during snow storms or trail riding. That way I didn't have to get out to lock hubs. Never had a problem when riding on highways.

from 4x4 manual

"Operating in 2H with the hubs in the LOCK

position increases fuel consumption, noise,

vibration, and wear. For prolonged 2H operation

on dry pavement, set the manual locking hubs

to the FREE position."
