Hi there, I'm a new owner of a 74' EB and am at the biggining stages of restoring it. Both rockers are shot, rusted inside and out. What is the best way to go to turn these back to stock? and is this something that should be done by a body shop? OEM vs. aftermarket? Any suggestions?

Thanks

If you can get OEM metal, it is usually heaver gague than aftermarket. LMC Truck has them. As far as should you do it, that all depends on your mechanical skills. Some skill with body work is desirale, but not necesssary. I often compare body work to wood working. Get a good book on the subject. If you want a professional restoration, let a GOOD body shop do it. So I guess my answer is it is dependent on your skills an willingness to learn.

Good luck,

:)>-

Any of the EB parts suppliers have choices available to you.

Exact oe replacement, aftermarket replacement, even rock sliders are available for your truck...

check out Jeff's, Duffs, Tom's, BC broncos etc....

They all seem to have fairly decent service, it may just boil down to which shop is closest to you, or which particular product you wish to buy.

If you can spot weld sheet metal, you will be able to install them yourself.
