I just had installed a family cage in my 76 Bronco. Now I need to pad it so I don't dent my melon. Everything is mostly 2" OD.

Everything on Ebay is for 1 3/4 OD, at least that is what I found so far.

I see that Wildhorses has 2" OD pad by 36" long for 4.50 a stick.

Is that the best price for the padding or do I need to keep shopping?

Hi Ken...,

Can't speak to the padding prices... BUT., I can offer a "heads-up"

Get the good "roll-bar tape". This is good stuff & lasts forever (save parking/veh. stored in direct sunlight with no top in place)

Don't use duct-tape or the like... it won't last but a year, maybe.

P.S. I thought the padding was pipe insulation sold at hardware stores..?

Today I found at the Grainger website 2" ID x 1/2 wall x 6ft foam pipe insulation for 5.92 a stick.

I ordered 10 sticks which should be enough.

Is the roll bar tape special at Wildhorses and at Tom's Bronco? Is it just ordinary black vinyl (electrical) tape that is wider?

Who makes it and is there a part number I can cross reference online.

That tape looks like the 10 mil anti corrosion tape we use to wrap GRC pipe with where the GRC goes underground. Check any electrical supply, they should stock it. My link
