looks like the eec is fried. the IC5 is busted, burned capacitor(?) and it looks like there are one or two "wires" burned from the inside.

EEC catch code is D9L2 and the other numbers are EFI-SD20B and E9TF-12A650-Z10

yo,

As long as you have the Ford PN and Catch Code, you prob can check w/major Yards that are part of Hollander;

For a YARD SEARCH on-line, I use;

http://www.hollanderparts.com/

Select All Parts

year, etc, then FORD TRUCK - Bronco

Electrical Section

scroll to Engine-Motor Control Module

I didn't see it listed there, but just did a quick look.

Thanks, no dice though. Nobody around here carries (stocks) anything that old and none of the upull places are any good right now. I just bought one from Autozone. Would have been cheaper online, but I havent had good luck with the compatibilities of parts I can't return in person.

Installed the EEC and its rolling (well, as much as it is going to with low oil pressure and exhaust running directly out the manifold). Good lesson in 89 ford electronics though.

Yo, Good!

A few years ago, the PCM was the least likely cause of a cranks, but will not run; and/or multiple Codes/or no self test capability; now it needs to be checked due to age of capacitors/ etc.

GL!
