So, the '81 i recently bought is from Canada. Is there an informative source on what was done up there?
It has factory ford stickers in the engine bay as a NON-catalyst emissions model.
The spedometer reads in Kilometers.
I think it came from the factory with a second battery and winch. I cant find anything online about what options were available in Canada.
The previous owner told me it had a winch on it in the past. Has mounts for it on the frame, battery tray on both sides, a starter relay and a mess of wiring on the drivers side, a bunch of relays and modules and such under the steering column. All this stuff has ford part numbers and the wiring flows in and out of the rest of the harness and plugs where it appears to have NOT been added later.
Will post up some photos of what i have not ripped out yet. Battery tray and some of the underhood wiring ive taken out already. There was some melted wiring so i imagine thats when the winch was removed when the fire happened. The wiring im holding next to the gas pedal i pulled through the firewall, it was part of the mess pictured under the hood.
Anyway, aside from some folks on the forums having heard this and that, is there a source for researching what was released in Canada?
