Hey all-

My 91 has a viper remote start and one morning after using it the truck started whining a very loud shrill then a loud pop then back to a smooth idle. After getting to my destination and shutting the truck off-would not restart even manually. After replacing the starter and solenoid ran fine for a week or two then one morning after manually starting and letting it run while getting ready for work truck starting laboring then died. Now I can start it and it will run for so long warming up then labor and die. Anybody have any ideas? The remote was installed 2-3 yrs ago and had been doing fine. All gauges were reading fine, and yes there's gas in it. I cannot afford to aimlessly buy parts troubleshooting nor can I afford a mechanic not that I have one I can trust anyway. I would deeply appreciate any ideas you may have. I haven't tried anything yet.

So far friends have said:

EGR valve

MAP sensor

What do you all think?

Thanks.
