No fire, sounds like a ignition system bug. You already eliminated one possibility with the TFI module swap.
I can't remember if that particular setup uses a crank trigger at the front/rear. Would have to dig into some tech manuals. As usual, check all the basics 1st.
If I run across any substantial info on this subject, will check back in.

Never understood why the Motor Co. let GMC get away with building the Typhoon and never answered back with one of these type units with a 302 under the hood & a suspension package with the label of Hurricane🌀

It took the Exploder era to finally get anything similar with a 302.

Today, it was around 45 degrees... as usual truck would not start. Decided to put hair dryer on each part then try to start engine after each item warmed.. thought I had tried everything until I reluctantly figured I'd put it on solenoid... boom, started right up... let it sit about an hour, would not start again. I put hair dryer on solenoid again, started right up. Once again, the engine would not start but would crank with good power until hair dryer, twice. I had never heard of solenoid not allowing engine to start below 50 degrees or cranking an engine without fire... weird I thought, but right next to solenoid (when I found out what it was) is the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recycle) solenoid. Because it is so close to starter solenoid I may have warmed EGR solenoid too! Mechanic said to unhook plug from EGR solenoid. It will start without it. It did start and ran fine without it. If it starts tomorrow morning it is EGR solenoid. If not, it is starter solenoid. Ordered new starter solenoid just in case... go figure. Knew it had to be simple, but was hard to find problem. If it's EGR solenoid, I have EGR blocked anyway, so it will stay unplugged.

Hey cranky:
look at the fuel pump relay and EEC power relay. The fuel pump relay is green and the EEC power relay (Powers up the PCM), is brown. If I remember my 86 B11's, they are very near where you are heating. Either will cause a no start condition.
Try some known good ones if you can.

Thanks! after seeing your message, a light bulb went off in my dark head and the logic of your post made total sense. I checked the relays and saw the green and brown connections you were taking about. Today, I am buying the replacement Fuel Pump and EEC relays to replace them from Napa. I will let you know, but you probably already know what the outcome will be after the next night of chilly weather, which is tomorrow night. Thanks for setting me straight and I do pray that you are correct!
