I purchased my Bronco a few months ago and right from the start I was having trouble with the back window. I had to close it several times pretty forcfully to get the window to roll back up. The other day it wouldnt go down I opened it rolled the window down manualy and tried to close it hard or hold it closed, nothing. I replaced the motor that did nothing at all. So my question is this latch that if it fails to make contact will prevent the windor from rolling in either direction what is it can i buy it seperately? any advice or suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Welcome to the Zone!! Try pushing on the left side of the tail gate and turning the window switch key.  If that works, then all you need to do is adjust the striker that the latch grabs on to.  Using a Torx bit, loosen it a bit and nudge it forward just a little and then tighten it back up.  If that doesn't work then the safety switch is probably bad.  Parts are available here: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/full.aspx?Page=23 or you can bypass the safety switch.  Keep in mind that if you bypass it you need to make sure the tailgate is all the way closed before operating the window, (that is what it is for).  I bypassed mine and never had a problem, in fact it made maintenance inside the tailgate 100% easier by allowing having the window in the full up position whilkd working inside the tailgate, (you need to support the window if it is up with the tailgate open).

Good luck,

:)>-

Here is the wiring diagram.  Hope that helps

For future questions, you should start your own topic.  Attaching on to another thread is called thread hijacking and may never get looked at or responded to.  Opening your won topic makes sure your problem get's noticed.
