I own a "92" Bronco, 351ci. I am having problems with my rear window, it will roll down using the dash switch but not with the key operated tailgate switch. I believe the problem to be a bad "window regulator switch" in the tailgate, my rear defrost also quit working around the same time. However my local Ford Dealer tells me that the part is no longer available. I have looked online at "LMCTrucks" with no luck. Can anyone help me with a suggestion as to whether I have mis-diagnosed the problem or a source for the part? Thanks for any help, Moose

Check out some of the old threads HERE I went to the ford dealer 2 days ago to get that switch. It was available but it cost $233. I went immediately to the junk yard, problem solved. Look at the wiring diagram in that thread and break out your multimeter. Start checking. Not the easiest thing to debug. If I had to guess and this may sound strange but, the switch (cab) that operates the window is probably bad not the tailgate switch. The switch moves the window but does not reconnect when disengaged leaving the circuit open. I had this happen to my tailgate switch both operate similarly. In the tailgate there is a switch for up and one for down. I had a single switch go bad. I could not use the front switch or the rear to roll down my window. I found that I could move the motor in one direction (up) with one of the two switches. This switch that moved the motor was bad. It did not reconnect the circuit leaving me with out a return when trying to roll down. Good luck.

Did you check the fuse for the tail gate key switch? There are two fuses, one for the driver switch which is hot in run and Accessory and the one for the tail gate switch is hot at all times. If it is OK check the black with white stripe wire for 12V, that is the hot line to the tail gate key switch, you may have a break in that line.

Good luck,

:)>-
