My anti-lock light came on and I have a burnt brakes smell comin from the rear, I am having trouble getting the drums off though? Any tricks besides a big hammer?

sticky e-brake cable. thats how mine are right now. with the wheel off try wiggling around the cable at each rear wheel too see if that helps if not their is a rubber plug in the backing plate. remove it and look inthere with a flashlight. there will be a wheel in there with spikes. try spinning it might be frozen. you will need to push a holding lock back and out of the way to spin it to release the self adjusting part of the rear shoes. going to auto zone or where ever and buying a brake spoon will help out alot for geting in there to turn it.

mbtech2003 is probably right about the sticking e-brake.

Try getting some WD40 or other lubricant on the cable.

Here is a link to a picture of the rear brake assembly, and the self adjusters spoken of above.

The little lever held in this mechanic's fingers is the self adjusting lever. It pretty much allows one to trun the adjusting star/gear in only one direction... the direction that will tighten the bakes against the drum! If you can push it forward out of the way while spinning the gear that will make it easier.
