Billy,

No, no, no. You've got a Dana 44 IFS *front* end and an 8.8" *rear*. Now maybe I'm wrong but I'll bet this weeks beer that I'm not (and I don't ***** around with my beer). If you were running a 351 & it was a bit older you might could have a 9" instead but the ONLY rear axles you'll find under your Bronc' are an 8.8" or a 9". See the recently pinned thread right at the top of this page for more info on the 9" but your 8.8" is a good stout axle, same one that's in my 88'. Not that we can't break it but we'll hafta try pretty hard.

Swing by if you're not for sure & we'll give it a looksee but it HAS to be an 8.8". Read what me & Bidi posted in the other thread then go & take a gander at what's under yours.

And Bidi's right when he says it's probably a 3.55 I think the Factory also used 3.73's but not very often, 3.55's have been in every one *I've* ever seen. The door tag should have the axle code and THAT will give you a ratio, should also be a tag on the axle itself. Unless that is you lost the thing when you were changing the gear oil. Now, if you changed your oil by taking off the rear diff cover then you've got yourself an 8.8". If you changed it by pulling the axleshafts & the taking the center section out *from the front* then you've got a 9", but like I said, I'll bet my beer you have an 8.8". Bring it over, we'll check & I'll toss you a cold one.
