power window stutter

the newest tailgate problem i have after putting what appeared to be the best one i have found in local scrap yards when i installed the gat hooked up wires hit the dash switch to go up and got about an inch the stop opened door did same got almost a foot

come to find out (was 10 at night with a flashlight) that the bottom of thesupport the motor reg assembly bolts to snapped of at the bottom can this be replaced or am i back on the hunt for a good one

out of my two othe gates one is cherry except where a tire carrier loaded with a 33 inch MTR pulled the top skin out and the other with the support for the carrier in it but the same thing with the motor support problem

is that piece removable and if not cant I thru bolt the brace to the door and add a piece of diamond plate accross the bottom of the door? :blink:

Mine rusted thru at the bottom also. I poprivited it to the skin as a temporary solution untill I get around to replacing the tail gate.

found one pic that shows the area and from it (I marked where it is cracked in red) almost looks like it bets held down with the bolts for the torsion bar on the bottom and maybe a spot weld under the top lip gonna check one of my other gates tomarrow and maybe cut one open to find out
