I have a 93 XLT, and the power steering pump drives me nuts! I have come to understand that pretty much any 150 or Bronco made from 92-96 has the same problem of the PS pump making that God awful whine everytime I turn. Anyone know of an aftermaket one, or a quick fix for this.

Ford power steering pumps are known for whining like a 5 year old in a toy store. A lot of people convert over to the GM/Saginaw power steering pump. One the newer Bronco's, I have heard this is not as to do as it is on say the '78-'79 Bronco's. Check BroncoGraveyard.com, SuperFord.com or BigBlueOval.com for writes on how to do this.

I know how to do it, I changed out the one on my trusty '79 a few years ago... I was just wondering if they all had that horrible whine to them.... thanks

Do you have oversized tires on your 93? I would do a Saginaw pump swap. Did mine a little bit ago and the whine is gone. You can to the swap farely cheap.. If ya have any junkyards around you, grab a pump of an Econoline van. 87-96 I believe? I got mine of a 92. Make sure you grab the bracket, bolts, pump,.. You will need a bigger size serpentine belt too.. It is worth the time to do the uprgrade. expecially with oversized tires..

No, I don't have oversize tire, but am looking to get bigger ones... Will have to hit up some junk yards or the Graveyard... just need to find the time to do it... I might try and get a quick fix with the Lucas trick.

I've had three Broncos 1988, 1990, and now a 1989, the 88 and 90 did not wine, but the 89 is doing a great job of annoying me, I think I will try and find the Lucus Oil first, if that doesn't work then I'll go looking for a Saginaw pump to swap. Now my question will any saginaw pump work or am I looking for a particular vehicle to get it from such as an Econoline Van?
